MTV Roadies season 7 audition hits the road

Africa declares war! Get ready for wildest safari of your life and set out to the deadly terrains of Africa! MTV Hero Honda Roadies is back for auditions in its 7th season with The 7 Sins!


If you thought the last season had you biting your nails with all the action and adventure, this season of Roadies will take you to a whole new level and MTV takes you to the only place that can handle the heat – Africa! The auditions are on! So SMS ROADIES to 56882 (upto Rs. 3/sms) to register! – Registrations close on September 16, 2009!


In order to make it to the show, contenders will have to undergo and pass online auditions at www.mtvindia.com/roadies, followed by the second round on ground in any of the 5 cities – Kolkata, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Delhi and Mumbai.


Hosted by VJ Rannvijay in an all-new role, joining the Roadies as a new character this year is the one & the only – IRRFAN KHAN!

Irrfan comes in & throws open 7 twists to the contestants throughout the season, when they least anticipate it of course! With over 60 films to his credit, this NSD student has proved himself over & over again as an actor par excellence; and on Roadies, expect the unexpected from him!


The journey begins from the barren lands of Bhuj in Gujarat and continues to enter North Africa covering Egypt, Kenya & Tanzania. How do I register for MTV Hero Honda Roadies 7 ?

If your nationality is Indian and you are 18 years of age, there are three ways to register:

1. You can SMS ROADIES to 56882. Charges will be upto Rs. 3/sms. You will receive a password via SMS. You need to login using your mobile number & password to complete your profile.

2. Or you can click on this Register page enter your name, email & phone number. You will be redirected to the Login page. Wait for the password which you will receive as an SMS within 30 minutes. Login using those details.

3. You can login with your Facebook account by clicking a button which looks like this facebook button. Once you login, you will be re-directed to a page which will ask you to verify your mobile number. Once you enter your phone number, you will be sent a password with which you can login to complete your profile.

OK, I got my password and logged in. Now what?

You will see a page asking you for your basic details. Please enter correct information, especially your contact details. We need a way to let you know if you have been shortlisted, right? Also the stuff you write in ‘About You’ box will be visible to the whole world. You will also be asked to upload a photograph.

Why do y’all need my photograph?

Since the shortlisting for the Group Discussions & Personal Interviews will happen based on the forms you filled online, we need to see what we are getting! Also please avoid uploading photos in which you are wearing sunglasses, hats / caps, scarves, masks, spectacles etc. – anything which covers your face. Maximum file size is 2MB. Please upload only files with the extensions .JPG and .GIF.

OK, I filled in my basic details. Now what?

Great! Now that we know what you look like, we need to see your personality too. You now have to answer 10 subjective questions. Once you are done, read your answers carefully. If you are happy with your answers, click on CONFIRM. But remember, once you confirm your answers you CANNOT change them again. If you want to change your answers, click on the BACK button.

OK, answers confirmed & submitted. Then what?

Cool. Your profile has been sent to the MTV team for review. If you have been shortlisted for the Group Discussions & Personal Interview round, you will be contacted via phone and/or email by the MTV team. As a big thank you for registering, you will also receive an SMS and email from Fastrack giving you a Rs. 500 voucher which you can redeem on their cool merchandise across all their stores.

Thanks. Now what can I do to increase my chances of getting shortlisted?

You could shoot a one minute video telling us why we should pick you. This would help us get to know you better. Avoid using abusive language & background music in your video. Upload it on YouTube.com & send us the link here. Once approved by the MTV team, this video will be visible on your profile page here.

That’s it?! Isn’t there anything else I can do to better my chances?

Well, if you haven’t already connected your Facebook account to your profile, do so now. Apart from being able to share your profile and videos with your friends easily, it will also give us an opportunity to get to know you better. However, do check the privacy settings of your account so that your profile is visible to us.

OK, I have completed my profile, sent in the video and connected my Facebook account to my profile. Does this mean I am shortlisted for the Group Discussions?

Unfortunately, no. The MTV team will shortlist the candidates for the Group Discussion based on the online entries received. If you have been shortlisted, you will get a call and/or email from someone in the MTV team.

Yay! I got a call for the Group Discussions! Now what do I do?

Good. Now you need to login with your mobile number & password you received earlier and print out your audition form. Along with your profile, you will also get a print out of a Consent Form. You need to sign on this document in the space provided and carry it with you to the auditions. Also carry along your photograph and an original or copy of age proof (Driving license, voters identity card, school leaving certificate, birth certificate, ration card or passport) to the Group Discussion venue.

What if I am selected as a Roadie for MTV Hero Honda Roadies 7?

If you want to appear on the show, you will have to enter into a Talent Management / Participant Agreement with Viacom18 Media Pvt. Ltd.

How is season 7 of MTV Hero Honda Roadies different from previous ones?

For starters, the audition process has shifted online. The candidates for Group Discussions will be shortlisted based on the online entries and they will be called to the venues separately. Also, we are going to Africa. A-F-R-I-C-A! Not to forget Irrfan Khan who is going to bring a new dimension to season 7 where he will be the one introducing the 7 deadly twists in the show. And this time Rannvijay will actually RIDE with the final Roadies! Satisfied

Group Discussion Tips For MTV Roadies 7

1. Give respect to judge.

2. Always try to sit near the judge seat (We will explain it in point no.5 and 6)

3. During GD never point out your finger towards anyone or stand from your seat.

4. Never look towards the Judge during GD on topic is going on.

5. Do not ever agree with anyothers point, always put your view in front.

6. Speak as clear and loud so that it can be heard by the Judge, even if you have little knowledge about the topic given.

7. Never wait for someone to keep quiet , always start with the say go. In GD no specific time is given to an individual. Everyone speaks together. So speak at higher pitch.

8. Use mostly hindi for GD, partial English is allowed.

9. Never argue with Judge.

10. Try to start GD yourself from start, if you don’t speak in GD for any reason whether other misbehavior or anything then you are sure out. SO DO SPEAK LOUD THERE.
